Privacy

The short version. You can paint a fish, download your card and read every word on this site without giving us anything. We only get an email address if you type one into the Dive Log. We set no cookies, run no third-party analytics, and sell nothing to anybody.

Who we are

This site and GLOW & SEEK are made by G Productions Japan 合同会社, registered in Japan. For anything on this page — including a request to see or delete your data — write tosupport@glowandseek.com.

What we collect, and only when

1. If you save a pattern to the Dive Log

Painting is anonymous. The email field appears only if you choose tokeep a pattern, and only then do we store:

• your email address, lowercased;
• a display name, if you typed one — it is optional and we credit you by it;
• the pattern you painted, as the list of brush strokes that make it up;
• your Founding number, the language the page was in, and the date;
• two random tokens, one to confirm the address and one to unsubscribe.

We use the email for exactly two things: telling you when the Steam page opens, and telling you when playtests start. Every message will carry an unsubscribe link. We do not sell, rent, or share the list.

Saved patterns are meant to last — the plan is a credited Hall of Patterns inside the finished game. If you would rather yours were not in it, say so and we will remove it.

2. Anonymous usage events

We count how the page is used so we can tell whether the paint tool is any good. This is built to be anonymous rather than promised to be:

• a random session id kept in sessionStorage, which your browser deletes when you close the tab — not a cookie, and not reused across visits;
• the name of the thing that happened (page viewed, light toggled, card downloaded) plus small numbers like how long you painted and how many strokes you made;
• the page language, and the origin only of the site you arrived from — https://example.com, never the full URL.

We do not store your IP address alongside these events, we do not fingerprint your device, and there is no Google Analytics or comparable third party on this site.

3. The bot check

Submitting the Dive Log form runs Cloudflare Turnstile, which exists to keep scripts from filling the list with junk. To validate it, your IP address is sent to Cloudflare and checked against the challenge you completed. Cloudflare states that Turnstile is not used to track individuals across sites and does not sell the data it sees. It is only on the Dive Log form; the rest of the site does not load it.

4. Hosting

The site runs on Cloudflare Workers and its data lives in Cloudflare D1. Serving and protecting a website necessarily involves Cloudflare processing connection data, including IP addresses, on our behalf. That is infrastructure, not analytics, and we do not build profiles from it.

Where it is kept, and for how long

Data is stored by Cloudflare and may be processed outside your country, including in Japan and the United States. Usage events are kept in aggregate for as long as they are useful for improving the game. Your email is kept until you ask us to delete it or unsubscribe.

Your rights

Whatever jurisdiction you are in, the offer here is the same and you do not need to cite a law to use it. Emailsupport@glowandseek.com and we will:

• tell you what we hold about you;
• correct it;
• delete it, including the pattern, if that is what you want;
• send you a copy of it.

If you are in the EU or UK, our basis for holding your email is your consent, given by ticking the box — and consent you can withdraw at any time. If you are in Japan, the same request routes to the same address under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If a child has sent us an email address, write to us and it will be removed.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect, we will update the date at the top and, where the change is significant and we have your address, tell you directly.
